Dancing With The Stars - The Musicians

File Under: Dancers Making Music

I got wind of the fact that Mark Ballas and Derek Hough, two of the dancers on "Dancing With the Stars" have formed a band, aptly named the Ballas Hough Band. I talked to my friend Jim who happens to also be a DWTS fan and we decided it would be fun to go.

Weather was not on our side. We had a bunch of snow yesterday. Undaunted, we decided to go anyway so we hopped in a cab and and headed to the Abbey Pub.

The Ballas Hough Band was in town because the DWTS live tour was also in town. Once we were there, it dawned on us that some of the other dancers may show up.

They did!

I'm so jealous! Usually I'm just happy for the good fortunes of others, and I am for you with all this, BUT I am also envious as hell. Tell us more, please!

Joy! I thought of you when I was there. I wished you were with us. It was one of those spur of the moment things. My friend Jim and I both decided to trek out in the crappy weather and it paid off. The band was cute, everybody was really nice except for Kym Johnson who was there and did NOT look approachable at all. Lacey was adorable and excited to be approached. Maks was also very nice but I wish the damn hat would have come off. No sign of Alec or Tony. I don't know if either of them are on the tour.

The band was good. Those boys can really play their instruments. I'm talking about guitars, Dan! The entire night was fun.

If I lived in Chicago, I'd have gone with you. I'm glad you thought about me - that helps some. OK, now I have to pay attention and see if that band plays somewhere in Nashville when the tour is in town. I went to the tour one year but am not planning to this time. I will check out that band, though!
